The village of Hrdlořezy, with the first written mention in 1363, is located 5 km from Mladá Boleslav. The highest point in the village is 286 metres above sea level. There are currently about 630 inhabitants in the village. Due to the large layout, the village is divided into three parts, i.e. the upper part is called Hrdlořezy, then there are Přední důl Hrdlořezy and Zadní důl Hrdlořezy. The village boasts a playground, tennis courts and water reservoir. The Chapel of St. Jan of Nepomuk (kaple sv. Jana Nepomuckého) is the dominant feature of the village.
The village was originally a farming village, with a village square dominated by the Chapel of St. Jan of Nepomuk. Teaching began in the municipal building in 1882. A voluntary crew of firefighters was founded in 1885. A civic reading Discussion Club was founded in 1890.
The new road bridge introduced a modern character to the village.
