The interesting Art Nouveau builing of the Secondary School of Applied Arts was built in 1909-1910.
The school itself was founded in 1884 and teaches its students how to process precious stones and metals. Metalengraving, artistic black smithery, metal casting, and more recently, highly-specialised metals and precious stones restoration studies have all been gradually added to the cutting of gemstones and goldsmithery.
