The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary (see metal trail) is an important religious monument of Mladá Boleslav. The late Gothic building, sponsored by Boleslav patroness Kateřina Militka, is complemented by a Baroque gable. Inside the church there are valuable Renaissance frescoes.
The beginning of the church is estimated around year 1334, but the origins of the building may date even further back. The church was first built from wood and later rebuilt in stone. The patroness Kateřina Militká from Mladá Boleslav had the church rebuilt at her own expense in the late gothic style in 1566. After the fire in the town, the church was rebuilt in the baroque style by the architect Mikuláš Rossi in 1702. The history of Utraquism in Mladá Boleslav is evidenced in the stone chalice in the left window on the front wall of the church. Renaissance frescos decorate the interior of the church and the gothic baptismal font from the second half of the 15th century is undoubtedly the most precious item in the church.
