Via Horky 

We will go on an approximately 18-kilometre cycle trip from Nedamov from Černý rybník towards Ždírec. We will pass by a part of the Upper Liběchovka Wetlands Nature Reserve, pass the memorial to the end of World War II at the former Ženský mill and the waterworks from 1913. We continue along the rocks on one side and the marshy meadows on the other to a junction where the road to Panská Ves leads to the right, Plešivec to the left, and we continue straight on. The road dips between the forests, we pass Dívčí skála (Girl's Rock) and then a group of houses in the settlement of Ždírecký důl (Zdírecký Mine), where we can see the rock niche chapel of St. John the Baptist on the left next to the road.

Go to the crossroads where the road to Ždírce and Lukes leads straight ahead, left to Tachov. Turn left. At the chapel with a copy of the Rain Madonna, a dirt road turns off the road to Korce, but we continue along the road lined with fruit trees. Afterwards, we can admire nice views of the countryside, on the right we see the majestic silhouette of Bezděz Castle, in front of us Tachovský quarry, on the left Korecký vrch and then Starý Berštejn. We reach a crossroads where the road to Oken leads to the right, we turn left. A little further on, we will notice a divine statue with a picture of the Holy Trinity in a curve and then we will enter the village of Tachov.

At the pond we pass the memorial to the victims of World War I and turn left on the road. On the left we see the village chapel, built in 1793-4, on the right a huge protected large-leaved lime tree. Leave the village and follow the road down towards Korce. At the end of the exit turn right onto a new paved dirt road. Slightly to the left is Berštejnský vrch with the castle ruins. We reach a crossroads, the road to Zbyn curves to the right, but we keep going straight on, passing the turn off the dirt road to Korce and a little further on we come to the road junction on the road from Doksy. In a field on the right we see a cross, which reminds us of the original route of the dirt road.

Turn left on the road, go up to the woods and after 1 km turn left onto the narrow road to Horki. Enjoy the newly laid asphalt surface and also the views of the beautiful countryside. We pass a cross on a stone pedestal and enter the village of Horky, where we can admire the Holy Trinity Chapel from 1797 and beautiful timbered houses in the village square. In front of the chapel there is a small brick building of a municipal well. We go down the village square, past the former pond and then down a steep serpentine descent to the Horecký mine. On the left we notice massive rock blocks, on the right we pass a small water reservoir with fish.

Approaching the crossroads, a stone pedestal with a cross stands among the lime trees on the right. On the road from Korce, turn right and continue through Ptačí dol, where you can again admire some of the folk architecture. Climb up the hill, at the fork to the left the road leads to Březinka, to the right to the recreational buildings and then to St. Barbara or Vrchovany. Continue straight ahead, descend another serpentine valley to Černý rybník (Black Pond) with a swimming pool, campsite, summer cinema and refreshments.
