The Church of St. Matthew in Hruštice, high above the historical core of Turnov, originated in the place of an old chapel near the fortress of Jaroslav of Hruštice which pre-dated the origin of the town.
Only the sculpture of St. Matthew has been preserved from the furnishings of the Gothic parish church and today it is a part of the exhibition of the Museum of the Bohemian Paradise in Turnov. The last alterations of the church were performed after the fire in year 1894 in the pseudo-Baroque style.
