The founder of this castle was most probably Jindřich Berka, who built it for one of his sons.
A cistern and a cellar dug into the rocks have been preserved from the wooden castle. The entrance to the buried cellars, the aforementioned rainwater cistern and a carved well are visible on the top platform.
The remains of the castle and the eponymous Čap rock formation tower majestically over Čapský dol near the village of Pavličky.
