A village 12 km southeast of Dobrovice, dominated by the
Baroque castle by the architect F. M. Kaňka from 1707-1713. In
the castle, which includes the church of the Assumption of the
Virgin Mary, is a small interior exposure
Several bush mazes and labyrinths, attracting visitors, could be found in the castle park. The castle owner Erich Thurn-Taxis initiated in 1893 in Loučen an establishment of the fi rst football club in Bohemia ever. The castle was visited at the time by eg. writers and R. M. Twain or M. Rilke.
