The Church of St. Wenceslas in Sýčina near Mladá Boleslav with the tomb of the Thurn-Taxis family is a valuable religious monument documenting the transition from the late Gothic to the Renaissance. The furnishings include wood carvings by the Jelinek workshop in Kosmonosy.
The Church of St. Wenceslas was built during 1571–1583 by Jiřík Cetenský of Cetno and Vinařice as a family burial chamber. In 1609, the church was rebuilt by Václav Cetenský in the current form including the interior paintings by the German painter from Württemberg, Kreger Kargus.
The church was owned by Adam von Wallenstein from 1623 to 1831, when the Thurn–Taxis family acquired the church and constructed their burial chamber here.
