The Church of St. Barbara in the suburban part of Mladá Boleslav - Debře nad Jizerou was founded near the local cemetery in the times when Gothic architecture ruled. The church still lacks a tower, its function is fulfilled by an octagonal bell tower.
At least a separate belfry with an onion-domed roof covered with shingle was built next to the church at the end of the 17th and beginning of the 18th century. The octagonal floorplan makes this remarkable structure one of the most atypic belfries in the Czech Republic.
