Sudoměř village is an ancient settlement whose history dates back to prehistoric times. It was built on the promontory that descends into Skalský pit (Skalský důl) with its steep rocky hillsides. Sudoměř itself is dominated by the Baroque-style Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, built in 1773 with the cemetery. The village square is shaped like an old Bohemian circle. All the important family farmsteads and also the birthplace of Jan Evangelista Konopas are situated there. Next to the Church there is the pearl of Sudoměř — a memorable 1616 wooden bell tower, made by carpenter Jan Volf. The cross is erected on the highest point in the middle of the village. It was built by the community at its own expense in about 1850.
