The village is on the main route between Nymburk and Mladá Boleslav (11 km distant). The village boasts a Castle in the central area. This is an architecturally excellent, underrated Late Baroque building from about 1760, with an attractive portal with sculptures (putti). The Castle forms a stylish unit with the 20-year older Church of St. Martin and the more distant parish house. One of the most beautiful monuments to casualties in the Mladá Boleslav region is located in front of the Church. Opposite the Church is the well-renovated building of the municipal school, with a Secession-style facade and the statue of St. Jan of Nepomuk. The village includes the northernmost part of the military area known as Mladá, which was abolished in 1991.
