Start: Bělá p. Bezdězem, Masaryk Square

Destination: Bělá p. Bezdězem

Length of route: 30 km

Character of the route. The route is suitable for both mountain bikes and cross bikes.

In the charming lush green valley of the Rokyta stream lies the romantic place Klokočka - a national natural monument. The name Klokočka is said to be derived from a particularly lush hawthorn tree that grew right next to a spring with exceptionally healing water.

Go from Masaryk Square down the castle hill, turn left at the crossroads in front of the U Koníčka restaurant, climb uphill on cycle route No. 3045 towards Dolní Krupa. After about 6 km turn right onto cycle route No. 8150. Beware, there is no cycle route sign here. Follow the asphalt forest road, still going downhill. We pass the tourist signpost at the White Cross and join the green tourist sign for a while. The path ends at Klokočka in an open area, which also serves as a small parking lot. The place got its name from a huge hawthorn growing above the healing spring. From the car park, head left towards the spring following the red marker. Supposedly, the healing spring restored the health of one of the Wallensteins. Countess Marie Markéta Valdštejn, née Černínová of Chudenice, had a chapel built here in 1724, dedicated to St. Stapin, the helper of gout sufferers, and consecrated to St. Prokop. The widow of František Josef von Wallenstein fulfilled one of her husband's pious legacies with this act. Under the chapel, you can refresh yourself with the spring of the already mentioned excellent water. We return to the crossroads to the parking lot and continue along the cycle path No. 241, which is also marked as a red tourist trail for a while. We will reach Mala Bela, where there is a possibility to refresh yourself in the restaurant Klokočka. From there we continue along the same cycle route marked 241 towards Debř. After the bridge, the cycle path connects with the blue tourist trail. We will reach the relatively large ruins of the Zvířetice Castle founded in the 14th century by Markvartice Zdislav of Lemberk. It lies on the right bank of the Jizera River near today's railway station in Bakov nad Jizerou. From the ruins continue along the blue trail to Bítouchov. The path leads through a field, but it is easily passable. From Bítouchov we continue to follow the blue trail until it meets the main road (the old road Bělá p. B. - Ml. Boleslav), here we turn right and go down Pilský Hill to Bělá pod Bezdězem. After the barriers turn right and join the cycle route 0060, which will lead us past the Slon pond and the town swimming pool (turn left uphill after the swimming pool) back to the town.
