A count’s sins and sporting passions
Hrubý Rohozec state chateau, surrounded by a modest English park, offers visitors more than twenty richly furnished rooms that in the past served as representative and residential rooms of members of the Des Fours Walderode noble family of French origin.
Tours
Tour 1 – State Rooms (Basic Tour) – duration approx. 60 minutes
The Tour 1 includes the interiors on the first floor of the castle, i.e., the staircase to the chapel, the vestibule, the sacristy, the Chapel of the Holy Trinity, the small library, the large library, the dining room, the Green Salon, the Count’s suite (study, hunting salon, and bedroom), the hunting corridor with a view of the period-style restroom, the Countess’s suite (salon and bedroom), the antechamber, and the main staircase. All of the rooms listed are richly decorated and furnished with original furniture, paintings, porcelain, and other artistically and historically valuable objects.
Tour 2 – Private Apartments (Selective Tour) – duration approx. 70 minutes
Tour II includes the interiors on the second floor of the castle, namely the main staircase, the hall above the staircase, a small corridor, the children’s playroom, the children’s bedroom, the governess’s room, the maid’s room, the servants’ dining room, the room by the plane tree, Countess Augusta Gabriela’s room, Countess Maria Immaculata’s room, the vaulted room, the blue salon, the green room, the guest bedroom, the large hallway, Count Karl Friedrich’s room, Count Kun Theodor’s room, the billiard room, the hallway to the oratory, and the oratory. All of the rooms listed are richly decorated and furnished with original furniture, paintings, porcelain, and other artistically and historically valuable objects.
Tour 3 – The Castle for Children (special tour) – duration approx. 25 minutes
This abbreviated tour for children passes through two castle libraries, the dining room, and the children’s and guest rooms. It is designed for the youngest visitors, children under 10 years of age. The tour guide is dressed as a princess. The tour is conducted primarily in the form of questions. Tours of the children’s tour depart only at predetermined times.
